When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, selected services, and message. Manuscript inquiries may also include a book title, word count, fiction or nonfiction category, genre, preferred schedule, pricing estimate, and any sample or files you attach to your email. Please send only information needed for your inquiry and avoid including sensitive personal information about yourself or others.
How the calculator and forms work
The pricing calculator runs in your browser. Entering a word count or preparing an inquiry does not send your information to us. The inquiry button opens a draft in your email application; you must send it yourself. Files selected on this website are not uploaded or automatically attached. You must attach any sample to your email manually. Your email provider handles the draft and delivery under its own privacy practices.
How we use information
We use information you send to respond to questions, review samples, prepare quotes, arrange and provide agreed services, communicate about projects, and maintain related business records. An inquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing list. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Manuscripts and access
We treat unpublished manuscripts and samples as confidential project materials. They may be shared with the editor or other team member involved in reviewing or completing your project, as needed for that work. We do not publish your manuscript or use it in a portfolio without your permission. We never use AI to edit, rewrite, or evaluate your manuscript.
Service providers that support website hosting, email delivery and forwarding, or project file storage may process information as part of providing those services. Our website is hosted through Porkbun, and inquiry emails may pass through email forwarding before reaching our inbox. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights or address fraud or security issues.
Website traffic and cookies
This version of our website does not include advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or cookies set by our own site code. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and access times to deliver and secure the website. We do not track your activity across other websites. Our site code does not respond separately to browser Do Not Track signals.
Retention and security
We retain inquiry correspondence and project materials for as long as reasonably needed to respond, complete agreed work, maintain necessary business records, and meet applicable legal obligations. Retention varies with the purpose of the record. You can contact us to request deletion of inquiry information or manuscript samples; some records may need to be retained for legal or contractual reasons. No method of email transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
Your choices and questions
You may choose not to send an inquiry or provide optional information. To ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, use our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. Any additional rights available to you depend on applicable law.
Children and external links
Our services are intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can address it. Other websites linked here have their own privacy practices.
